In 1986 Hank Gobin (Tulalip Tribes) went to his doctor for what turned out to be short, and not so sweet, visit. The doctor told him he was, “borderline diabetic.”* Hank says his fasting blood sugar level was about 250.

To lose weight, it helps to set future goals. But, it also might help to look in the past, to find out why you gained weight, and where you got your feelings about food, and your eating habits.
Lynette Romero is a single woman who has lost more than 20 pounds. She says some of her eating habits came from her childhood living on the Bishop Paiute Reservation.
